Do short, easy walks leave you feeling unsatisfied?
Do you find yourself pining for a decent challenge?
Do you want to see more of Britain's majestic landscape?

THEN THE MOUNTAIN ACTIVITIES PROGRAMME IS FOR YOU!!

Hi there,

the Mountain Activities Programme (MAP) is aimed at providing members of the mid-Lancashire Area's seven Groups with an alternative to the walks that might be offered within their own Groups.  MAP's walks all have a minimum grading of 'intermediate' (see here for the walk gradings that we use) which means that at the very least we'll bag a fell on one of our walks and you should always come back knowing you've been well exercised. The areas we walk in include the Lake District, Snowdonia, the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland and the Highlands of Scotland...  and, for those of you who like it tough, we are not averse to the odd exposed route (such as Bristly Ridge or the CMD Arete) or doing routes that require one or more nights of wildcamping or sheltering in a bothy.

Over the next few weeks you will see the MAP web area develop as we add in the elements of the programme (we actually have six months worth of activity planned already) and make the 'browsing experience' more fulfilling. In between times, have a look at the links below and if they whet your appetite we'll be happy to have you along.

Best regards,

Mark Trodden
MAP Co-ordinator
